Casa da Moreia

Antonio was so kind when we got lost on a hiking track and called him for advice. Even though we’d checked out and the house was fully booked that night, he texted later to check we were all right and offered us a shower and a bed when we finally got back. He also helped with wet clothes by providing a clothes horse and washing machine, and even surprised me for my birthday. He really did everything he could to make us comfortable. The house itself is beautiful, with spacious rooms and a bath. There were three of us, so Antonio added an extra bed. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with fresh regional specialities served to suit our preferred timing. When we arrived, he welcomed us warmly and shared some local specialities, then spent ages telling us about the history and region and recommending hiking tracks. Antonio is a kind, generous, enthusiastic, fabulous man. I can’t say enough good things about him, the guest house, or the spectacular region. Casa da Moreia was honestly a highlight of our trip to Portugal. Thank you, Antonio!
