Hotel Laitau

The bed was large, the room clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. For the price, it was adequate, and breakfast was reasonable, though there wasn’t a local option. A few things were frustrating: the TV and reception phone didn’t work, and there was no handrail in the shower. Worst for me was the toilet seat, which wouldn’t stay up. It’s an easy fitting to adjust, but having it clatter down mid-pee is disconcerting. I’m a big supporter of soft-close seats everywhere.

Just checked in and I’m really happy with the huge, super-clean, fresh room. Biggest hotel bed I’ve seen so far! The staff are nice, and free street parking was easy to find, though the hotel also has a limited number of unreserved garage spots. Only issue: there are regular curtains rather than blackout ones. There were electric shutters, but I couldn’t find a button for them. 🤔🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

We’re leaving today after staying for a month and 10 days. We first found the hotel online and only planned to try it for a few days, so the long stay was a surprise. It felt like home and gave us, as wanderers, a real sense of warmth. The place is small but refined, with beautiful furnishings that we loved. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the staff were positive, friendly, and considerate. I could also see in the daily work how dedicated the owner couple are. Our trams have charging piles, which was wonderful and memorable. This was a lovely stopover in a foreign country. We’ll come back and recommend it to our fellow Chinese. See you later!

The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk from the centre and waterfront, and we had a great stay. Check-in was very friendly, and the service was great. Everything was clean and well looked after, with comfortable beds and good air conditioning. The shower had strong pressure and hot water came through straight away. Breakfast had a range of hot and cold choices, mostly continental. I’d swap the instant machine for decent filter coffee, both for convenience and taste.
