I was really disappointed. Accommodation in Sines is pretty poor, so when I found residencial carvalho I thought it seemed almost too good to be true. The people running it are friendly and extremely willing to help, but the place itself isn't suitable for tourists. The hygiene conditions are questionable, and this is a house with loads of potential that's been badly used, as if it stopped in the 1960s. The pictures on booking are very appealing and make it look like a charming, rustic place with decent facilities. Maybe some people get lucky, but I didn't. I hope they can make better use of the space. My suggestion about rooms: don't choose one. Stay away.

It was fine for a single night, especially for the fair price and central spot. The welcome was friendly too. The room and the whole house, though, are incredibly dated.
