Pendoa sintra collection-Rua da Biquinha nº7(Edifício separado)

I loved staying here and wish I’d booked for longer. It has great access to the town centre. The house manager was quick and responsive with communication both before and during my stay. The reservation back-and-forth was the one downside. I was due to check in within a week and had already booked, but reservations didn’t answer my questions beforehand. That made me pretty nervous.

The beds were comfortable, and the little apartment was clean and not far from the historic Old Sintra centre. It’s probably not a good fit if you have mobility problems, but if hills and cobblestones don’t bother you, getting around is a great workout.

These are small apartments in central Sintra, about 300 metres from Villa Regaleira and 100 from the National Palace. It’s fairly quiet in the evenings. The reviews mentioning wine and breakfast treats seem very outdated, there was nothing like that during my stay. The terrace was dirty, and there were just two coffee capsules for two people over two days. It also felt like the current owners don’t much like their guests. Worst of all was the terrible sewage smell from the bathroom. I had to sleep with the hood on. I’d like the owners to show a bit more care and attention. Otherwise, it’s a good place.

The old town location is very nice, and the street is quiet. It was hard to find, there’s no access without a special permit, and parking is extremely limited and tight.
