Quinta dos Lobos Boutique Hotel - Nature Experience

The official hotel site should mention its history. The property once belonged to the famous Portuguese writer Alexandro Herculano in the 1870s, part of it is dedicated to his memory, and it’s apparently on Portugal’s national register of historic places. There’s also a hidden space in the building where the Masons used to meet secretly decades ago, with masonic symbols in the mosaic floor. That seems worth telling people. I stayed there many years ago after being invited by the hotel’s owning family, the Santos Lima family. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and very quiet.

We went to Fado night, and it was just my wife and me with a few locals who came for the show and wine. The restaurant and service were top notch, and the medieval bar next store was a great last surprise, with excellent local beer and mead. Driving there can be a little challenging, but everything else was fantastic. This may be the best service and most fun I’ve ever had at a hotel. THIS PLACE WAS FANTASTIC.

My husband and I held our wedding ceremony in Sintra recently, and the Lobos staff gave us the best service. I’m not sure I’ve ever had such prompt, kind, helpful communication at a hotel. They answered our questions, made sure we had what we needed, and made us feel welcome during a special stay. The room was spacious and artistic, the nature was lovely, and the walk to downtown Sintra was easy and beautiful. I also liked that the hotel was tucked away from the busy crowds. We had both breakfast and dinner there and enjoyed them. Thanks to the Lobos team!

The staff are really nice and attentive, always ready to help guests. It’s an attractive Quinta, about a 5 minute walk from Quinta da Regaleira and around 14 minutes on foot to the city center. We recommend getting breakfast there, since it’s easier than going out every day to look for food.
