Sintra Flower Vintage Chalet

I’ve stayed in more than ten places in Portugal and elsewhere, and this was the worst managed one I’ve come across. I arrived at the stated 3 p.m. check-in time, but the room hadn’t been cleaned. I couldn’t get in until around 5, which showed very little regard for guests’ time. Getting help was just as frustrating. The advertised 24-hour support never answered when I called, whether I was on my way in the morning, asking about the unready room in the afternoon, or trying to report the noise at night. In practice, reaching the hosts seemed almost impossible. Sleep was difficult too. Sounds from other rooms carried straight into mine, so there was no real privacy or comfort. Honestly, this was a terrible stay. The cheap price ended up costing me, and I’m absolutely sure paying another 10 euros to stay somewhere else would be worth it.

Everything was close enough to reach on foot, which made the location handy. I was traveling with my family, though, and we found the room really cramped. The bathroom was small as well, but at least it was clean.

The room had what we needed, even though it was small, and the location was excellent. The bathroom was quite damp, and hot water came and went, so we had to take turns showering in the morning and at night.

The rooms are new, but the house itself is old. There’s no elevator, and every step from the rooms upstairs can be heard and felt.
