We’re starting our Camino walk in Tomar, and staying here made the beginning feel special. The hotel is right in town, close to everything, yet quiet. Our clean, white room looked onto the main walkway, where no cars pass, and the original wooden floors were lovely and quiet. The building is around 200 years old, with solid materials and thick walls that kept it cool even in April. We didn’t need the AC. There’s a spacious common room with high ceilings, and the second-floor front desk staff were happy to offer recommendations and check that everything was all right.

Jorge, the owner, made the experience great. His service was phenomenal, and he had a really funny attitude. The place was very clean and right in the center of the attractions. Thank you, Jorge!

The people and the building never got old during my month there. The staff were amazing, and my room was cleaned every day. Such a beautiful place, especially the stylish forecourt and its location. I can’t wait to go back 🥰

The room was tiny, and the shower room measured about 1.5 by 2 metres. The shower itself was so cramped it felt like a 1920s French sit-down shower. Paint was peeling off the walls, with a stain running down from the ceiling to halfway down one wall. The fittings seemed from the 1940s, but had no charm. I was taken to a fast-food café 50 metres away for my evening meal. Avoid. Were some of the other reviews paid for?
