Thomar Boutique Hotel

We loved the rooftop terrace, with its fantastic views of the castle and convent. Although there’s no parking right at the hotel, free access to the city’s public car parks was a real plus. Tomar is a wonderful town, with great sights and plenty of excellent places to eat. Our two-storey suite was beautifully designed. The freestanding bathtub in the bedroom was a lovely touch, and the main bathroom was excellent, with a spacious shower, plenty of room, marble details and high-quality Rituals toiletries. We were warmly welcomed, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Special thanks to Eva, who let us have breakfast after the official hours, and to her colleague who brought out fresh food just for us. That kind of care is far from common these days.

The hotel is in the heart of Sintra and is beautifully decorated, with stylish details. We had two rooms, one with a huge king bed and another with twin beds for our adult kids. Both rooms had strong A/C and comfortable showers. There’s also a cozy shared area where they serve afternoon treats, wine, coffee and tea. Breakfast was really good, with everything we wanted.

Breakfast felt a little sparse for the price, but otherwise it was good value and we’d definitely return. The hotel is close to the town center, and our room was very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was spacious, and the upstairs suite even had its own bath. A wonderful hotel, all in all.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a decent-sized bathroom and a nice view of the Templars Castle. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Great spot across the river from the old town.
