The kids loved exploring the big garden and playing by the nearby river, and we also had our own outdoor area for relaxing in the evenings. Rustic Retreat is clean and comfortable, with nice beds. It’s right by the famous Ecopista do Dão, just a couple of minutes on foot or by bike from beautiful views. The owners greeted us warmly with snacks and a tasty bottle of wine, and shared useful tips about local activities and restaurants. There are quite a few large shops nearby too. We had a great stay, highly recommend it, and hope to return as the owners continue developing the space.

After cycling the Ecopista do Dão with our kids, we spent a night in this cozy, pleasant place right beside the trail. The outdoor area is lovely, and the River beach of Pena in Negozela is nearby. Two nice restaurants are about a 15-minute bike ride away. The hosts were kind, friendly, and helpful, and left us coffee, tea, treats, and a bottle of white wine. I highly recommend staying here and riding along the beautiful Ecopista do Dão.

It’s an old-style house that feels like new, and the surroundings are great. We only stayed one night, but everything was just right: cake and wine to welcome us, warm bread at the door in the morning, a coffee machine, WiFi, TV, and several kinds of milk and cereal for breakfast. There are bicycles at the house for a ride to nearby cities. Recommended for a great stay.
