The location inside the fortress is hard to beat, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were great, with curtains, a light, and your own power station. Breakfast is included and self-service, which worked perfectly for early starts on the Camino. They also have good cleaning rules to keep bedbugs from getting a chance. I’d definitely recommend it.

There aren’t many beds here, so it stays quiet and makes a nice place to unwind after walking. The communal area is nicely furnished, and the washrooms and showers were clean. I stayed during my Camino to Santiago in March, and the location inside the fortress was great. Music was playing that guests couldn’t control, but luckily the man in charge came by and turned it down.

I did the Portuguese route and stayed in Tui, and now I’m doing Fatima in reverse. If I’d known about this place, I would have stayed here. It’s spotless, cozy, cool, and zen, with bunk beds more like sleeper-train beds, curtains for privacy, individual power outlets, bed linen, a duvet, and winter blankets. The kitchen is fully equipped, and you can buy wine or port. Breakfast buffet is included, and there are books, card games, and board games. It feels like home away from home, with elevator music in the background, Wi-Fi, laundry service, and massages on request.

The rooms, bathrooms, and shared areas were spotless, and the staff were kind and went out of their way to help arrange luggage transport. This cute, very warm hostel is in an unbeatable spot in the heart of the medieval town, lively and full of character, with great restaurants all around to explore. A perfect place to start the Camino or stay overnight. Highly recommended!

Best hostel I stayed at on my Camino. I had a good bed, enough privacy, and a quiet night. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe. Good breakfast and excellent service 🙌🏻
