I liked the bath and the breakfast, but the bed felt like one from any two star hotel in Portugal. The price didn't feel justified, although it's the only hotel in town. What really upset me was the laundry charge. The night staff said I could wash my clothes, so I did, then hung them up because the dryer wasn't working. In the morning, I got an invoice for 55 Euros. I wouldn't have washed anything if I'd known it would cost even 10 Euros, let alone 55. Maybe I was naive, but travellers should beware. I might skip this hotel entirely.

The staff were very nice, and I had a pretty good room and okay food. I was grateful they let me check in at the last minute, after midnight. The wifi didn't work, and the TV screen was ancient, so watching it wasn't pleasant, though I didn't need either. For the price, I was quite satisfied and would book again.

The rooms could use a renovation, but they're convenient for a short stay. The showers should at least have somewhere to set shampoo and shower gel. It's the only place to stay in Vendas Novas.

I was with a cycling group, and the service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left. Definitely recommend it.
