We were celebrating our anniversary, but the staff made the stay feel tense rather than welcoming. My partner had booked us a room, and on our first day the receptionist said the pool was closed for the holiday. We’d expected to be able to use the hotel facilities. The next day it poured, and my partner was unwell. We asked if we could check out two hours later, but were refused, even though there were very few guests. We also needed to get medicine from a pharmacy, so we borrowed an umbrella. It broke almost right away in the strong wind. When we came back and apologized, they asked us to pay 25 euros for an old umbrella. The staff rarely smiled and didn’t feel friendly or supportive. We felt like we were asking for favors instead of being treated as guests hoping for a pleasant stay. I was very disappointed.

The sea view is lovely, and there’s parking, a pool, and a fitness center. Breakfast had everything you need and was good. Hotel Flôr de Sal is good value, and I’d happily return.

The room can be great or just OK depending on which side of the hotel it’s on. Reception were great, especially Eloise, who was a big help sorting out my booking. Bar staff could have been better at times.

The water from the sink and toilet came out brown, which was a problem for us. The town is about a 15 minute walk away, but I thought the ocean, boardwalk, and gym and spa made the distance worthwhile. The hotel connects to a large gym and pool and spa with a dry sauna, included in the room price. Breakfast was good. Rooms are very large, and the ocean side has extra large balconies, so be sure to ask for that side.

Breakfast was good, and the room was large and clean. The windows don’t block sound, so the sea side is the better choice. The spa is shared with schools, and the nearby pool means the sauna and hamam aren’t quiet.
