We borrowed umbrellas from the Quinta and spent a few days enjoying the surf. The nearby beaches are wide and sandy, and even without beds or umbrellas because it’s too windy, they’re gorgeous. In season there are good beach bars and places for surfing and windsurfing. Back at the property, the pool was lovely for a dip, and walking around the grounds gave us a sense of how big the estate is. They also provide a map of restaurants and sights nearby. The converted country estate is a peaceful retreat in a lovely corner of Portugal. The owner, Gabriel, and Caterina were all friendly, easy to talk to, and glad to share tips. Our room was immaculate. Breakfast was especially nice, with a changing spread of ham, cheese, and fruit, plus some of the best bread rolls I’ve ever had. We happened to be there for my partner’s birthday, and they surprised us with cakes that morning. The hot water failed on two of our three nights, and they were very apologetic about it. I can’t imagine a lovelier place to stay in the area, and recommend it without reservation. Thanks again for your hospitality.

The whole place felt magical. We stayed in the lavender cottage and went to the salt pool every day. Breakfast arrived each morning in a basket from Gabriel, and the bread, yoghurt, fruit, and cheese were all delicious. Catarina made our five-day holiday feel especially personal. She showed us the beautiful grounds, suggested nearby restaurants, and gave us lots of ideas for activities and day trips. It was even better than we expected. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend it enough!

We had two adjoining rooms for our family of four, each with a small kitchen, bathroom, and living area, and they were well equipped. The patio and pool were peaceful and lovely, and having breakfast delivered to our door or patio every day was great. The property is beautiful, and the owner and reception gave excellent service. The hosts suggested plenty of places and things to do; we had a couple of great beach days and went canyoning. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Fresh lemons and oranges grow all over the property, and guests can pick them. Our lemon water couldn’t have been fresher! If you don’t feel like going out, you can get frozen meals at reception, though they also share a very good list of restaurants to try. Breakfast was fresh each day and generous. The staff were open and welcoming, kept the accommodation clean every day, and went out of their way to make things relaxed and easy. They also gave us great suggestions for places to visit across northern Portugal. The location works well for exploring the north or enjoying quiet days by the pool and vineyards. We’d wholeheartedly recommend booking here.

Catarina made our stay perfect. She even came to see us on our last day with breakfast before our early flight. The staff took such good care of us and went out of their way to make everything wonderful. This place had everything we needed and more, and it really is all about the details. I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying nearby.
