Laurinda went out of her way to make sure we could enjoy our holiday after a problem with our booking reservation. She welcomed us with local food and suggested places to see around the island. The house is beautiful, and its peaceful setting has amazing sunset views across the ocean. We’d happily recommend it and hope to come back soon.

It’s a quiet, secluded place, and for us an ideal way to step away from everyday life and discover somewhere new. Casa do Norte is a cozy, traditional-style house with a garden full of citrus and guava trees, herbs, shrubs, and flowers. You get dramatic sea-coast views to the north and east, while a small picturesque chapel looks out over the sea and countryside from a hill to the south. Green pastures surround the place, with a few cattle grazing. If you stay long enough, you’ll likely see local farmers herding them along the narrow, winding roads.

Laurinda gave us such a warm, attentive welcome. The traditional house is lovely, well kept, and has everything we needed, so it felt like home straight away. Norte may feel like the end of the world, but hiking, sights, villages, and swimming are all within easy reach. We had a wonderful stay in this special little corner of the world. 110% recommended.

The house is lovely and comfortable, set in a big, beautiful garden with the sea below and mountain views too. Laurinda, the owner, welcomed us warmly. It’s a lovely place to enjoy the quiet and nature. This small island deserves at least a week if you want to make the most of it.
