The garden made it easy to unwind, with loungers and hammocks among the palms and a covered place to sit and grill. We spent 14 days in the smaller house, Casa da Quinta 2, and Maria looked after us like family. She was warm and helpful throughout, brought fresh muffins again after a week, and even shared courgettes from the garden. Our laundry was changed and the flat cleaned after the first week, with no extra charge. The house had everything we needed: comfortable beds, a very well-equipped kitchen, bathroom supplies, towels and a washing machine. On arrival, there was homemade soup, cheese, yoghurt, butter, milk, honey, cornflakes, crackers, fruit, water and muffins waiting for us. Maria really had thought of everything. She’s the best host we’ve ever had, and we’d happily recommend staying here. Thank you, dear Maria!

The home was well equipped and set on a gorgeous property with beautiful gardens. Maria was incredible, easily the best Air BNB host we’ve had.

We found the house spotless, with everything arranged nicely for our arrival. Maria greeted us at the start and was always available if we needed anything. She’d left homemade soup, chocolate cake, wine, cookies and fruit, plus fridge basics like yoghurt, milk and cheese. Casa da Quinta is an easy base for seeing São Miguel. The view of ilhéu de Vila Franca is magnificent, supermarkets and some restaurants and cafés are close by, and getting around the island takes about 30 minutes to an hour. Great house, great host. I’d absolutely recommend it.
