A very quiet, authentic place, and the owner was friendly. It’s away from the usual routes. A few ideas: add a shaded spot to sit outside, put a small washing machine beside the fridge, and replace the 300 mA residual current device with a 30 mA one for better safety.

The house itself is beautiful, clean, and above all, really cozy, with lovely mountain views and a peaceful setting. Pedro, the owner, and his father, Sr Morais, were incredibly kind. We took a long weekend to explore Vinhais, and Casa da Mencha turned out to be a wonderful surprise.

We visited in June and had a great time. Senhor Morais is so friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has everything needed for simple meals, and the setup works well for a small family. I can imagine it gets terribly cold in winter!

The hospitality from Sr. Morais made our stay much better than we’d expected, and we’ll definitely come back. We were lucky to find Casa da Mencha. It’s a charming old house, renovated inside with all the comfort you need. The vine at the entrance, heavy with grapes, is such a lovely detail.
