For a three-star hotel, it was very good, enough to earn four stars from me. I only noticed a little mold in the shower.

More than a year has passed, and Hotel Durao still hasn't answered any of my emails or Booking.com's. Booking.com told me they couldn't reach the property either. I was charged €87 for a "no-show" even though the hotel was unreachable when I tried to check in. They verbally agreed to waive the charge, but I never got written confirmation or a refund. I've filed formal complaints with consumer protection authorities over the lack of communication and accountability. At this point, it's about warning other travelers: the property took payment and provided no service or support when a problem came up.

The room was comfortable, and the free breakfast was pretty good. It's a good spot for a night, except our room had a strong cigarette smell.

We had a lovely weekend here. The hotel was clean and peaceful, with a beautiful view. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet was lovely.

The room and bathroom were damp and stale smelling, and black mold was everywhere. It felt like a health hazard. This was the worst hotel we've ever stayed in.
