4/10
The location is good, and there's free parking and a good breakfast, but the hotel feels worn and old fashioned, like its best days were in the '60s. The so-called spa has an indoor pool measuring 6x10 m and a small gym about 6 x 7 m. Both the sauna and steam sauna are 1 x 1.2m. Unfortunately, all three of us who used the steam sauna came down with the flu exactly two days later.

Breakfast was very good, with the usual choices, and the hotel is right in the heart of the city. The pool and sauna were out of service. The rooms are tiny and feel like they're from the 70s, with power outlets only near the floor. The bathroom also looks straight out of the 70s, with its original chipped, damaged tub and toilet. Lighting is limited and low, and the dated-carpeted hallways are dark. The front desk staff weren't very receptive. This feels like a two-star hotel.

10/10
The location is the big draw, and the place has a good energy. Don't expect a five-star hotel, but the rooms are fairly priced, the staff are really helpful, and the owners clearly care for the property. The garden is very well kept, the air conditioning works perfectly, and the pool in the city center is a gift during Viseu's extremely hot summers. This is THE place to stay if you're planning to visit Viseu.

The staff were very unfriendly, unfortunately. There are nicer, better hotels in the city, so I wouldn't recommend this place.

6/10
The rooms were very comfortable, and I really liked the hotel's interior atmosphere. It's also in an excellent location, and breakfast was great. The reception was the problem: the staff weren't friendly, and we weren't welcomed warmly. The treatment felt a bit rude, unreceptive, and not cordial at all, with no smiles.
