We spent much of the day by the amazing pool and loungers, then ate each evening at the bistro on the property. The setting was incredible, the waiters were friendly, and the food was delicious. Our lake-facing room was a lovely way to wake up, especially with delicious breakfast brought to the terrace each morning. The building is beautiful, with lovely wooden and antique finishes, and it’s very clean and well kept. Leila, the manager, was a pleasure to work with, and she and the rest of the staff went out of their way to take care of us. We had an incredible stay at Villa María and I highly recommend booking there ☺️

Breakfast was very nice, with a good choice of fruit and Paraguayan baked goods. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is right in the middle of town, within walking distance of the lake. A perfect spot for a romantic long weekend in San Bernardino. Just a couple of things would make the rooms better: shower gel and maybe a coffee machine. We’ll be back!

We didn’t get any sleep, and neither did our newborn. The neighbors played loud music all night, but the hotel staff did nothing to help. At 1pm, we had to move to a worse room, and they didn’t offer any compensation. Be aware, you could end up paying for a sleepless night here ☝️

After I made the reservation, the hotel had no room available, so we had to move to another hotel at midnight. Worst hotel I’ve ever seen.
