Al Mirqab Boutique Hotel

The hotel’s Arabic atmosphere was lovely, and its location in the heart of the old town meant everything was close by. The rooms were clean and spacious, with daily housekeeping and fresh towels. The bathroom was a little small, but otherwise fine. We had breakfast at another location, and the golf carts made getting there easy and convenient. Ansar was especially friendly and helpful.

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and the service was excellent. The room had several problems, though. The bathroom smelled strongly of sewage, and the air conditioner kept malfunctioning, so I called maintenance multiple times. The room phone didn’t work properly, which meant I had to go downstairs whenever I needed help. The coffee machine was old and dirty, and the kettle was rusty. There were also cleanliness issues under the bed: when my charger cable fell underneath and I pulled it out, my hand was covered in dust. The hotel needs to improve its maintenance, cleanliness, and room facilities.

Kynn and Saleem were warm, welcoming, and really professional. They brought a genuine sense of humor to their hospitality. Big thanks to both of them!

We'd happily stay here again. The rooms were spacious and nice, with a comfortable bed, and the hotel sits right in the middle of the souk, which is great if you enjoy the energy of traditional markets. The staff were very friendly, too. We had a couple of snags. Our family rooms were apart from each other, which was frustrating at first. After a few days Yacine at the front desk sorted it out and kindly upgraded our room. He handled the whole situation really well. I'd also checked in advance whether the pool was heated and was told it was, but on arrival found out it wasn't. The sister hotel a few minutes away did have a heated pool, though, and we were able to use it. Breakfast is served in another building, about a five-minute walk away. That's fine in winter, but might be tough in summer. They run a golf buggy between the buildings, although sometimes there's a wait.
