There are plenty of local places to eat nearby, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast is served in another building, about a two-minute walk away. My room was huge, with a sofa and a dining table for four, and the bed was comfortable and six feet wide. The shower was good too. The electrical switches were a bit strange, and they scanned my luggage at check-in. Maybe that's normal in Qatar?

Jalil from Housekeeping kept the room very clean every day and was always so polite. I also want to thank the hotel manager, who quickly arranged a different room for me, upgraded to a junior suite, when noise in my original room became a problem. He was kind and efficient. I had a great stay.

The room size and view were just right, and the face-to-face service was excellent. Staying in this hotel in the middle of Souq Wagif felt really authentic. They validated the Souq parking, so parking was free. We were there for a couple of nights and had a great stay overall, though a few things were frustrating. There wasn't a free power outlet for charging, since the sockets were all being used by lamps or other accessories. Security stopped me once by the elevator to ask if I was staying at the hotel. I also tried four different email addresses and got only a reply saying my message would be passed to the department in charge, with no answer afterward. As a Discovery member, I was supposed to have late checkout. I called several times before they confirmed I could leave at 1 PM, an extra hour, which was fine. But around 12:30 the front desk called, sounding angry and asking why I hadn't checked out. When I explained I had been told I could stay until one, she seemed surprised and stressed that I shouldn't be late.

The pool and spa were great, and the staff were amazing and friendly. I felt right at home. I've stayed at other hotels in Qatar, but now I know where I'll stay from here on. Great location, lovely place, and a good price. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.
