Central Inn Souq Waqif

The bar had a great atmosphere and was a lovely place to unwind after a long day at the circuit. We stayed during the Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the location made everything easy to reach, so the weekend felt smooth and stress-free. The hotel is elegant but relaxed, modern, beautiful, and spotless throughout. A wonderful visit from start to finish. I’d happily return and recommend it.

Najlaa and Ayoub at reception made our visit especially enjoyable. Their warm Tunisian hospitality, professionalism, and kindness stood out. They helped us get into a room early, before 12:00, and guided us with questions about both the hotel and the city. The place was clean and comfortable, the service was excellent, and the location was great for the metro, shops, and important places around Doha. Highly recommended, and I’d gladly come back. Meals were a real highlight, especially lunch with my kids. Ganga, Mehedi, Rania, and Raouia were attentive, professional, and kind, making our three-course meals enjoyable and memorable. The portions were generous and the flavors consistently satisfying. Breakfast at Sahra in the penthouse was lovely too, with delicious breads and a breathtaking view. The variety was great. Rimsha made check-in seamless, and the staff stayed friendly and accommodating throughout. Our junior suite was spotless, with a comfortable bed, good temperature control, and a smart use of space. My brother had a standard room. We booked through Booking.com and our reservation included breakfast plus lunch or dinner, which felt like great value. At checkout, Shakira handled everything smoothly and asked for feedback. We were happy to say the experience had been excellent from beginning to end. Our stay at Central Inn Souq Waqif was worth every penny.

The cleaning was so poor that it ended up tainting what was otherwise a great trip to Qatar. We booked nine days through booking.com, and only stayed because we’d paid the non refundable cost upfront. If we could have cancelled, we would have moved elsewhere. The first room was filthy: visibly dirty floors, toothpaste on the wall and toothbrush holder, crumbs on the counter, stains on the bedspread, and even a metro ticket from November left behind. Reception said the head of housekeeping would come up. We waited 30 minutes, went back downstairs, and asked to change rooms. We were told to pack and wait for someone with a new key. We packed in five minutes, then waited outside for another 20. A housekeeper called reception for us, and after more waiting a man finally brought the key. The whole process took over 1.5 hrs. The second room seemed bearable, though its floors were still gross, and we just needed to get on with our night. Housekeeping came in while we were out each day to change the garbage and leave more shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and dental kits we didn’t use, so those piled up. They didn’t replenish toilet paper, clean the floor, or change the sheets. Both rolls were already half used, and when we ran out my friend had to ask reception for another. On day six, we pressed the room’s cleaning request button and went out, hoping they’d change the sheets. I left the empty tissue box on the bed to be refilled, since there were things on the counter and I understand staff may not want to move guests’ belongings. When we returned, the box was still empty. The beds had been “made,” but the sheets and pillowcases hadn’t been changed. This may be cheaper than many other Doha hotels, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of hygiene. We still paid for a hotel, and this one spoiled part of an otherwise great Qatar trip.
