Le Mirage Downtown

We were trying to arrange a viewing of a one-bedroom apartment listed on Property Finder, but the leasing team was a mess. We first messaged the advertised number on Thursday and got no reply. When we called customer service on Saturday, Mohammad was helpful and set up a visit, saying Joy would meet us. We waited about 15 minutes and she never appeared. She seemed to be the same person we'd messaged. Mohammad gave us her business card, but after 10 or 15 calls from different numbers, nobody answered. We liked the property and were rushing to finalize things before our flight back to dubai, so we called customer service again for another agent. They gave us Katherine's name, but the same thing happened. We kept calling and got no answer. It's very unprofessional. If they don't want customers calling, they should take their numbers off the ad, or not post it. It worked out in the end because we found The Eight Downtown, which was way better and had professional leasing agents who answered calls and attended to customers.

On October 22 2025, I was due to fly to Qatar for a two-night stopover. I'd booked this hotel just four hours before my flight, but Qatar Airways wouldn't let me board because of a spelling mistake in my visa. It was an Embassy mistake, not mine. I contacted the hotel right away and sent proof that I couldn't travel. I asked if they could refund me, but they refused. I even offered to pay for the first night and get the second one refunded, and they still said no. Usually, when something happens outside your control, hotels will help, or at least keep the first night's cost and refund the rest. They kept all the money and wouldn't help at all. Terrible service and unhelpful staff. I wouldn't recommend this greedy establishment. There are better options.

The lobby was basic but nice, and it smelled great. The hotel photos didn't do it justice. Upstairs, my room had just been cleaned, but it smelled really bad, though not as bad as the corridor. The bedsheet wasn't very clean either. They also allow pets, so people with allergies should be careful. They call it a family hotel, but there were signs of bachelors being there. I wouldn't recommend it for families. If you're unsure, try booking just one night 😏 I checked out within an hour of checking in. The view, though, is the most motivational thing you'll ever see in your life.

The building is fantastic and very well appointed. Once Ashghal finishes the road and footpath work nearby, it'll be five stars. It's definitely a five-star review waiting to happen.
