Magnum Hotel & Suites West Bay

We were there to wait in the lobby for our son, who was attending a birthday party. The security guard scanned our bags, then spoke rudely and even asked us to show our ID at their Receptionists. After we explained why we were there, he followed us and kept giving us suspicious looks and questioning our purpose. We felt discriminated against. We've travelled to different countries and stayed in different hotels as a low profile family, and this is the only hotel where we've had that suspicious stare. They should train their staff before putting them in these roles and remember they're working in hospitality. This was on April 19, 2024 at 8:15 PM. Magnum Hotel itself may be ok.

My friend booked a hotel reservation for their wedding, but when we arrived, we found the hotel closed. We hadn't received any notice or email that it wasn't operating. It caused a lot of inconvenience and stress at a time when the occasion mattered so much. Communication and customer service are crucial, and I hope they improve how they communicate so this doesn't happen to other guests.

I've been living in the penthouse for 5 months under a yearly contract, so I can't do anything about it. The hotel is super dirty. The mattresses are extremely old and dirty, and seem never to have been touched. The cleaners are rude, dirty, and irritating, with bad attitudes. They don't bring the right equipment or detergents, and the covers, sheets, pillowcases, and towels they bring are dirty and smelly. I've recorded cleaners taking my personal belongings and opening drawers that have nothing to do with them. Many of my items have gone missing, and I informed the managers, but they refused. That's completely unacceptable. The curtains, desks, and other furniture aren't proper, and everything is broken and old. This is a penthouse in a hotel, and that isn't acceptable. I've called Mr Marvin, one of the managers, several times, but my complaints never got a response. I DO NOT recommend staying here, especially for a long stay. I hope things change.

Very, very poor customer service. The manager and staff need proper training to handle guests' needs. The new protocols for this season should have been posted earlier on all the booking applications. The manager is very unprofessional. A friendly reminder, your hotel should reflect its staff, and you're not the only hotel in doha 🤍. I won't recommend this hotel.
