Tourist Hotel

I had two cockroaches in the bathroom, and the promised airport pickup never arrived. The hotel had confirmed the pickup, but nobody came or contacted me. When I raised both problems with reception, they didn't seem very concerned. They also refused to offer a discount or any complimentary items. This was a really bad hotel experience, and I won't return. I've never had these kinds of problems before, even in Africa or Asia. Better to stay somewhere else.

The location worked well for us, near the airport and a short drive from places like Souq Waqif and the Corniche. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. Breakfast was included and decent, though I would've liked more variety for a longer stay. Our room was clean, well maintained, and comfortable, with the basic amenities you'd expect. Staff were courteous and ready to help with directions or local attraction recommendations. A pleasant stay and good value for tourists after a simple, comfortable base in Doha.

Room service never came, despite my asking at the desk around 1pm as we were heading out and the staff member writing down our room numbers. I also hung the card on the doors. When we got back around midnight, the rooms were still messy and the towels hadn't been changed. We called for toiletries and towels, and they arrived at 2AM, brought by the security guard because nobody else was available. I asked to make a formal complaint to the manager, only to find he wasn't at the hotel. Apparently he has no fixed hours and sometimes doesn't come in, and nobody knows whether he'll show up. Pathetic. There was no parking for the hotel. At best, the street parking can fit 10 cars, so you're lucky if you find a spot. The rooms were below average and had only minimal basics. Iron and hair dryers seemed to be an alien concept here. Even the door lock didn't work, so I was given an old-style manual key!!!!! I booked two rooms together, but we got one on each of two different floors. When I asked for adjacent rooms, the Egyptian guy at the check-in desk was rude and said they couldn't accommodate all my requests. I've never seen such unprofessional hotel staff. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in anywhere in the world. Seriously, stay away.
