The rooms are roomy, with big, comfortable beds, and the WiFi worked quickly and reliably all over the hotel. It’s a well-kept, clean building just a couple of minutes from the beach, though the style is pretty plain. The ground floor and restaurant are wheelchair accessible, but there’s no lift, and the soundproofing may feel a bit thin to some. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant were a real highlight: the food looked lovely and tasted great, with friendly, smiling staff and efficient service. Breakfast was fine, just nothing special. I’d happily stay again.

The poolside setting, with all the greenery, felt peaceful and relaxing even though we were in St Gilles. We stayed for over a week, and the welcoming, versatile staff made us feel at home. Our room was spacious, the lobby inviting, and the restaurant was great. Breakfast was good and filling, with eggs cooked to order.

Just reviewing the restaurant. While on holiday in Réunion, we came across Le Grand Bleu and sat by the pool with a bottle of delicious Macon Chardonnay. We also shared the burrata salad appetizer, which was so tasty.

That meal made it clear this wasn't some hidden-camera joke: the food was terrible. I booked a night recently and found so many incompetent people in one place that I honestly wondered if I was being filmed. Strongly recommend avoiding it.

We spent Christmas lunch here, and it turned into a wonderful day for the three of us Australians. The food was great, the service terrific, and the staff were both professional and so personable. They're a credit to themselves and the hotel. Well done, and thank you 😊
