Leu Bleu Austral

The peaceful setting and lovely view made it easy to switch off, and breakfast was just right. We only spent a few days at Carine's and wished we had more time. She looked after us so well, shared plenty of ideas for things to do around the island, and was a huge help in arranging our stay. We can't wait to return.

Breakfast came with an incredible ocean view and was generous, with everything we needed. The house and grounds were kept in great shape, and our bedroom was practical, with a well-equipped kitchen area. We spent 12 days with Carine and Thierry on our first trip to Reunion Island, and everything was just right. They had so many useful tips for exploring. The garden, pool, and rooms were all very pleasant, and we really enjoyed the excellent breakfasts. Carine welcomed us so warmly. We loved the panoramic view from the heights of St Leu, especially the breathtaking sunsets, and the location made it easy to reach the island's best spots. We stayed almost two weeks with Carine, Thierry and Mélanie. The five guest rooms occupy the ground floor of the large house and open straight onto the exotic garden and heated pool. Our room was very clean and practical, with a kitchenette and useful dishes, and it was tastefully decorated. The place is thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay, right down to two stations for cleaning hiking shoes in the garden. Breakfast was served from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the upstairs veranda overlooking the ocean. It was varied and delicious. We'll remember how kind and considerate the hosts were, along with their sound advice and flexibility around our activities, including day hikes, two-day hikes, and diving. They're passionate about the island they've made their home, and share that love in a way we haven't found elsewhere. We look forward to coming back to Saint Leu and Leu Bleu Austral!
