Richard made the stay especially memorable. Over dinner, he shared so much about local food and culture, and the service was wonderful. Breakfast was the best I had on this lovely island. The guest house is in one of La Reunion’s wildest areas, which makes it very handy for anyone keen to explore nature. I’d definitely come back 👍

We were soaked and worn out after finishing the GR-R2 a day early in torrential rain, with no place to stay. Jenny at Coco-Vanille got in touch with Richard at Pinpin d'Amour, who had one room left. He kindly came to pick us up in town at 9:00pm and welcomed us into his comfortable, artsy B&B. We barely had time to enjoy it before heading off again, but the breakfast was excellent. We’d gladly spend longer at Pinpin d'Amour if we return to the area.

The room was clean, authentic, and had everything we needed, and the shared living area was a lovely place to talk. We only stayed one night, but it was our favorite accommodation of the trip to Réunion Island. Richard and Marie Claude gave us such a warm welcome, and the whole guesthouse felt simple and genuine. We also really enjoyed our time with such passionate, fascinating people. Both the meals and breakfast were excellent, made with fresh local ingredients. Thanks again for the great tips and the braided rings you gave us as honeymoon gifts. A lovely stay, and a great discovery. We highly recommend it!

If you want an impersonal five-star hotel, this probably isn't the place for you. Pinpin d'Amour is a guesthouse at the heart of wild Réunion, run by a couple who care deeply about the island and its history. It feels authentic and isn't modern, but it has the comforts that make you feel at home. Richard is warm and full of enthusiasm. He welcomes guests with a film about Réunion's history, then shares historical stories and anecdotes and offers advice on places to see and good local spots. Marie-Claude's table d'hôtes is another highlight. Her Réunion food, made with fresh local ingredients, was the best we tasted during our stay, across both guesthouses and restaurants. We often make notes about places and things we try, but this time I wanted to write down a feeling instead of just giving a rating: the warmth, authenticity, and sense of being immersed in the soul of Reunion Island. Thank you, Richard and Marie-Claude, for an unforgettable experience.
