Casa Veche Corbeni

The view, location, kitchen, and place itself were positives for me. But the rooms seem suited only to couples: the beds are 140cm wide, there’s nowhere to put clothes, and there’s no kids area. The owners seemed nice, but when the husband gets drunk, he comes by late in the evening carrying his hunting GUN!! Be careful.

The garden is absolutely beautiful and the surroundings are really quiet. The house itself is a bit too simple, but comfortable, especially when you have the whole place to yourself. There are about 300m of country road before you get there, though a normal small car can make it.

Really liked the view, and the host was super nice. A really cool place to stay.

The yard is gorgeous, with plenty of space, a barbecue, and an orchard full of pears and apples when we visited. There are tables and chairs for meals or coffee, with a lovely view of the hills. You can get to Poenari Fortress, Stan's Valley, or Vidraru Dam in about 20 minutes. The cottage has four clean rooms and a kitchen and living room beside them, with big windows all around. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a toaster, coffee maker, barbecue utensils, salt, pepper, and more. It's fairly close to Transfagarasan, but far enough away that car noise won't bother you. You turn off the main road onto a slightly narrower one, then drive the last 200m on an unpaved road that any car can manage. Parking is in the yard. A great spot for a weekend or a quiet holiday.
