The price and what you get felt like a two-star deal. It was clean, but the hotel is very old, and there was no hot water when I arrived, just when I really needed a shower. It only came on in the morning.

There’s plenty of food and the service is very good. The hotel is also handy for getting to the natural thermal baths, Venera and Apollo, and the springs where people bathe in the Cerna River near Hotel Roman. It’s close to the historic Old Town Center too, as well as some of the resort’s best mountain trails, including Crucea Alba, Grota Haiducilor, and Coronini plateau.
Even the inside feels pretty grand, and walking past the hotel takes you back to when this was a royal resort. It needs renovation, though, and could be much better preserved.
I only saw the hotel from a good viewpoint above it. I haven’t been inside.
It's okay.
