The hotel is a decent option if you’re in the area. The shared spaces, especially the outdoor area, hallways, and building itself, look really good. The breakfast was good too, and the staff were kind and gave me information when I asked. The rooms, though, are missing the warmth and character I’ve seen at other boutique hotels.

The restaurant staff stood out, going out of their way to make dining enjoyable, and the food was excellent, tasty and well presented. Casa Popeea Boutique Hotel is still my top choice when I visit Brăila, and I think it’s the best accommodation in the area. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, though during this stay the air conditioning didn’t work properly, leaving the room too warm for a good night’s sleep. The rooms are usually clean and well maintained, but I’ve sometimes found the bathrooms not thoroughly cleaned to the expected standard at check-in. Even with those occasional issues, the comfortable rooms, service, and food keep me coming back. I’d still recommend it as a base for a trip to the area.

Modern, very clean hotel right in the city centre. The reception, kitchen, and bar staff are all very friendly. They take great care if you have a food allergy or other special dietary needs.

A cosy hotel in the center, and the quality of the materials really impressed me. I’ve never seen this kind of quality in a Romanian hotel. The breakfast could be a little richer, but I thought it was excellent, with top-quality products.

Someone put money and taste into this boutique hotel, and it really shows. Brăila definitely doesn’t have another hotel like it. Hopefully the prices won’t climb to Cote d'Azur levels like I’ve seen at the hotel from Lacul Sărat! :)
