Belvedere Hotel Brasov

The morning and later staff were welcoming, and the hospitality staff were courteous throughout. Breakfast came with good views from the dining area, though the options felt limited for a four star hotel. We had booked a Superior room with Balcony at Hotel Belvedere, one of two properties nearby, the other being Grand Hotel Belvedere. Our balcony faced the gate, so it wasn’t much use, and anyone walking by on the road could look into the room. Our first interaction at reception was also disappointing. The staff member seemed interested in doing only the bare minimum and gave us no details about nearby places or where to have breakfast.

The massage was very good, and I’d recommend it. The top floor restaurant was also good, with quality food and good service, though prices were higher than in the city. Our stay was quiet, so the small pool wasn’t a problem. There’s also an indoor pool at Grand Belvedere hotel. The hotel is in a very nice spot up the hill of Brasov, though it felt a bit dated. They were repainting parts of the stairs and hallways while we were there. The biggest issue was the curtains, which didn’t block the light at all. At 5 AM, when the sun came up, the room was like daylight. Breakfast was served across the way at the opposite Grand Belvedere Hotel, a five star property, but the food was average and not really at that level.

The pool was the highlight, and breakfast was simply awesome. My family absolutely loved our three night stay. The room we booked was a good size for two adults and two kids.

We couldn’t get a massage, even though we asked in advance. After leaving in the morning to see the city, we got back at 14:30 and found the room hadn’t been made. I waited 55 minutes in the lobby when all I wanted was to rest, and not even a complimentary coffee was offered. There was no spa or relaxing experience here. We booked through Booking.com for two adults and two kids, but were given a room for three people. They said one child could sleep with the parents, which was impossible, as the picture showed. We had to pay an extra 300 lei for a foldable bed. Horrible stay.
