JugendStube Hostel

I loved relaxing in the lounge, where there was always gentle spa-style music. My four-bed dorm was spacious, had its own bathroom, and was cleaned daily. You can get fresh towels for free, though I kept mine for all four nights. There’s free coffee and tea in the kitchen, and cooking is possible, but the lack of an extractor means poor ventilation. Some workers from India were staying there for a while and cooked a lot, so the smell could get quite strong. The receptionist was really friendly and gave me bus information for Bran Castle and 7 Ladders Canyon. The hostel is right in the old town. From the train station, take a bus to the city center bus terminal, a ride of just 10-15 minutes.

The room and bathroom stayed clean and tidy, and the shower and wifi were both good. Christy was lovely and helpful, and the location was fantastic. A few small details could be better, but nothing major. I’d stay here again :)

The service was the best part, the lady was so helpful and kind to us. The common areas were nicely kept, and our private room was spacious and clean, with a clean, pleasant bathroom, a table, a sofa, and plenty of sockets by each bed. It’s right in the heart of Brasov old town, ideal for walking around the pedestrian old city. If you’re driving, parking is still less than 10min away.

The woman running the hostel was especially helpful. She suggested a hiking spot near Brasov, lent me a waterproof map, and told me how to get there by bus. The place was very clean, and even though it’s central, it stayed quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. Cafes, restaurants, shops, and the main tourist sites are all close by. I really enjoyed my three-night stay at Jugendstube in mid-September, and I’d be happy to stay there again if I return to Brasov next summer.
