Crystal Palace Hotel

We had a really good view from our balcony, and the room was clean with working air conditioning. There was lots to pick from at breakfast, both hot and cold. The breakfast lady was so nice, asking what we wanted and checking on us every five minutes. The receptionist was lovely too and gave us toothbrushes. I thought the stay was a real bargain.

I haven’t felt this uncomfortable in a long time. The hotel manager was rude and impolite, and I felt like someone was lying to me and trying to deceive me. The staff seemed sad, and the walls and smells were even more depressing. It all brought back the old days and the Ceausescu era. Sad and very unfortunate. Anyone staying here will surely remember this review.

After moving to Bucharest recently, I stayed at Crystal Palace Hotel, and it soon felt like home instead of just a temporary place to live. I’m grateful to the whole team, and the hotel will always mean a lot to me. From check-in through departure, I had a wonderful stay, and the experience made the move much easier and more enjoyable. I loved the magical sunset views from my room. Housekeeping kept it fresh, spotless, and homely every day, with such careful attention to detail. They were a ray of sunshine. The restaurant staff also made my mornings brighter with their warm smiles and welcoming service. I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay they’ll remember.

My feelings about the stay are mixed, though mostly positive. The staff were a real highlight. Reception was nice, and the restaurant team were super friendly, smiling and joking around. The dark-haired woman and her colleague with slightly Asian features especially stood out. It was the first hotel where someone asked if I wanted coffee, then made it and brought it over. The food was good and more or less what I expected, though there wasn’t much variety. The location seemed safe and was fairly close to the airport, shops, and restaurants. There’s an ATM next door and a basic grocery store. The room had a lot going for it: it was spacious, I think around 22 m², the bathroom and shower were roomy, and I loved the long wall of glass windows that stretched several metres. There were some downsides. The smell of the cleaning products reminded me of trains. The toilet had a sulfur-like smell, probably from the sewage system, and it lasted the whole stay. The bathroom fan helped a little. In hot weather the AC blew cooler air but barely lowered the temperature, if at all. Although the hotel was refurbished a few years ago, parts of it still felt like the 2000s. It has a lot of potential because of its design, but feels a bit neglected. The staff are still among the best I’ve come across in a hotel.
