We had a charming stay in a lovely Bucharest neighbourhood, with helpful staff and a couple of cats to play with. The owner was lovely and helped my wife and me with everything. If you’d rather have an overpriced, touristy Old Town hotel with a bland brand name like hilton or novotel, that’s an option. But I’d happily walk up here from the Old Town for this experience. Would love to return.

I booked because the cleanliness reviews were good, so finding the place in this state was a real shock. The host was kind, and I’m sorry for her, but this level of carelessness needs to be addressed. Please clean the place, and consider this before booking. The carpet was dirty, furniture was broken, and there was dust and dirt on the doors and walls. I also saw dried boogers, stained chairs, and a general greasy feel. Under the sheets and mattress were huge dust bunnies, lots of hair from previous guests, stains, and, what finally made me leave, bed bug exoskeletons. There were also what looked like “rust marks,” which could indicate an infestation. I don’t understand the positive cleanliness comments, since this was one of the dirtiest places I’ve stayed. I tried to get through the first night, but checked into another hotel on the second. I spent hours inspecting my luggage and belongings for a possible infestation, then had to arrange other accommodation at midnight. This is extremely serious. About the response: yes, I posted a week after checkout, not two weeks. I only found the time then, and don’t see why that’s an issue. I didn’t say anything during the stay because I’m not confrontational. I wanted to leave, then write a review. I didn’t want to stay there or have anything else done for me. How could I have “planted” months’ worth of dirt in the apartment? I’d be interested to hear the theory. I sent screenshots on whatsapp showing I left on the second night and stayed at another hotel, but won’t share them here for privacy.

The host was polite and cooperative, and the house itself is beautiful. It’s a very nice place to stay, clean and furnished nicely. You can pay a small amount to park inside, or leave your car on the street.

Really cozy rooms, plenty of space, good quality furniture, and everything was very clean. Had a great experience and would come back whenever I get the chance.
