Hotel Marina 2

I've read the response to my review, and it was full of lies and humiliating remarks. The owners even said they wanted to call the police on me. I stayed only a few hours, went to reception before 6 pm, and said I'd pay for one night even though I wasn't going to stay because the place was terrible. I hadn't broken anything. I have no words for these unbelievable lies about me damaging the hotel. Shame on them for treating people this way. The place had no privacy, and I could hear every sound beyond the door. There was bird poo inside the room, no elevator, and I had to carry my bags up to the third floor. I didn't have an issue with the receptionist until I called to say I couldn't stay, and got an angry reply. I moved to a great hotel for the same money, with all facilities, no noise, no bird poo, and privacy. I love Romania and have friends here who are all great people. I'll tell as many people as I can that this place rips people off and lies about guests.

The bathroom smelled of sewage, and I couldn't open the window. I also found foreign hairs in the shower and gave them to the staff. The view was of a ruined house, so the hotel should have set a more realistic price. I was told the hotel couldn't change the neighbors' property or move to another area, and that I could have paid five times more for a view of Parliament House or a park. They said hotels at this price have shared bathrooms. They offered to move me to a double room on the other side of the building to avoid the view and traffic noise, though they said there was no traffic at night. That wasn't really true between midnight and 5 am. Their response also said they'd accepted my shipment, including large boxes like a printing machine, and let me check in late for free. They argued that I shouldn't block a room for four nights and then ask for the last two nights' money back, since other guests had been turned away, and said I hadn't complained while I was there. I had liked how they "teach" guests when I asked to leave after two nights and get a refund for the remaining two. They compared it to ordering three kinds of food and leaving after eating two, then said they'd change my room the next day to try to please me.

The room had damp and mold, plus spiders and mosquitoes. The bugs weren't a huge problem since we bought a device to deal with them, but the window looked onto a dilapidated wall, so we couldn't get fresh air. Maybe we were unlucky, but it felt overpriced for what it offered. It was decent for two nights, though I'd avoid staying longer.

For its price range, this is an excellent hotel. The room was clean and tidy, and the manager found me a free parking spot for the night even though everywhere around was full. I recommend it. 👍
