Hotel Sir Orhideea

I checked the bed for bedbugs when we arrived, like I do everywhere I stay, and found blood on the sheets and pillows, hairs in the sheets and on the mattress, and stains all over. The bed looked untouched. I went to the receptionist with photos and asked for clean bedding, but she argued with me that it was okay. I brought her up and showed her the dirty bed myself, and she still insisted the curly black hairs and blood weren't gross. I said we weren't comfortable and would leave for another hotel if they couldn't fix it. All I wanted was clean sheets. She said housekeeping had already left at 6pm. I even offered to change them myself. After we argued and refused to stay, they brought up new sheets, but they didn't even cover the mattress. My husband and I are on our honeymoon, and this is the worst hotel I've stayed in. The AC didn't work and it was so hot. I never usually leave negative reviews, but this was completely unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and we won't come back. Tomorrow we'd sleep in the airport because it's cleaner. Update: At 10:41 pm, we heard claws moving around in the ceiling and saw there were RATS up there. The front desk said it was kids, but kids don't have claws and four feet! We left and booked another hotel. Our Uber driver also said it was a really bad hotel. 0/10, and if I could give it a negative rating I would. DO NOT STAY.

The staff were amazing, the rooms were comfortable, and the location was perfect for our festival. I was absolutely happy with this hotel.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice. This is a pleasant old school hotel, with magazines and tourist flyers at reception. There may not be dedicated parking, or perhaps there just isn't enough, but the clerk pointed me to a public lot about a minute down the road. It was free and had plenty of spaces when I arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful. The heater can get a little loud at night, but only for short spells of 2-3 minutes. Otherwise, it was mostly quiet.

For one night just to sleep, it does the job. The room itself was disappointing, though, with a dated communist-era look and oddly green bathroom. Customer service was slow, and I even got a call asking me to check out after I had already left.
