I’m sharing the details because I think guests should know what to expect. The location is excellent, and the rooms are spacious with nice design. Ours was on the top floor, where the skylight instead of a window made it feel a bit closed in and let the sunrise wake us up. The building has no elevator, so we hauled our luggage up 70 stairs. Anyone with mobility concerns should keep that in mind. The low nightly price comes with trade-offs: most typical hotel amenities aren’t included. Fresh towels, toilet paper, water, and trash service all cost extra, no matter how long you stay. When we ran out of toilet paper in the evening, we were told to buy it ourselves and possibly ask for reimbursement. There’s no staff or management on-site either. That wasn’t a big issue for us, and email replies were mostly timely, but it could be a problem if something went wrong. The room itself was comfortable and roomy, which we appreciated. Still, I wouldn’t stay again. I’d rather pay a little more for basic amenities and staff support.

I’m surprised by the positive reviews. I booked a luxury suite with a balcony, but the so-called balcony was just outside a window. None of the amenities listed in the booking were there, and when I contacted them, they blamed Booking.com. The place wasn’t even clean enough.

The location made a wonderful base for exploring Bucharest, right in the middle of the Old Town action. We loved how comfortable the bed was and how spacious and well-appointed the bathroom felt. Check-in was easy with codes for the building and room, so there were no keys to lose or staff to wait for. Ubers don’t come right to the door, but they’re cheap and easy to get a minute or two around the corner. A couple of things to know: there’s no lift, and our room was on the third floor, so it may not work for guests with disabilities or heavy bags. When booking, we had to choose between a non-refundable damage waiver of around €30 and a refundable deposit of around €250. That surprised us a little before the trip, though it may be because the property allows pets. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend it to travelers looking for comfort and a great location.

We had a lovely stay. The location was ideal for the old town, just outside the centre, so there wasn’t much noise. There was a problem with the toilet, but it was fixed within an hour. Communication was very good.

We felt right at home in the clean, comfortable room, which was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. HOLT Old Town was a wonderful place to stay for four nights. Everything was within walking distance, from cafes and restaurants to landmarks and nightlife, right in the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town. I’ll definitely choose it again on my next trip to Romania. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy Bucharest in comfort and style. Thank you!
