The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everyone on staff we met was terrific. We were in our 50s, 60s, and 70s, so we booked a couple of private rooms with their own bathrooms. Museums and other sights were easy to reach on foot. The hostel really is right in the middle of everything, and the Old Town stays lively at night, with music going into the early morning.

The Romanian staff made this place for me. They were friendly, helpful, and genuinely warm with foreigners. Some of the foreign volunteers on the night shift, who are paid with free accommodation, weren't as welcoming, though I liked the Ukranian artist Dude. I booked one night and stayed for two weeks. The two renovated old buildings are in a superb spot in the old town by the National Bank, and one has a rooftop bar. There can be nonstop street parties on weekends, so it gets noisy. The rooms and bathrooms are basic but fine. I don't mind sharing a room, since it's a good way to meet people and enjoy communal living.

The staff were great, and the rooms and facilities were clean. I loved the view over Old Town from the room. Though it was right by the partymile, it was surprisingly calm. It's a great spot for solo travellers or groups, and it'll be my regular place whenever I return to Bucharest.

The hostel was clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, the best part of the place. On the third floor, lots of guests share just one shower, and the kitchen had only a limited amount of dishes and cutlery. The spiral stairs up to the hostel were slippery and felt dangerous. A doormat would be a good investment.

It's party central, with a restaurant and bar in the hostel and plenty of chances to socialize. I enjoyed the cozy reading room too. The workers I met were keen to make everyone's vacation better: they showed us where to park for free, took us to nearby banks to exchange money, and brought me and my roommates to the starting point for the Old Town Bucharest tour. If you want peace and quiet, though, you should stay somewhere else.
