Residence Arc De Triomphe

The room was a good size and clean, and I'd stay at the Arc again next time I'm in Bucharest. I felt a bit cold overnight, so I asked the next day if they could provide a heater, and they got one to me quickly. Before check-in, I'd also requested extra pillows, and they were already in the room that night. Big respect to manager "Alycia," sorry if I've mispronounced your name, and to the rest of the staff. Thank you!

I got there at 2 AM and found the hotel gate open, but there was nobody at reception. I had my confirmation number and PIN, but no room number, and no one answered the phone number posted at the desk. I ended up sleeping in a chair until 7 AM, then left. Quite an experience to recommend!

I couldn't get hold of staff because the number in the WhatsApp message didn't work. There was a cat inside the hotel crying from 12:30 AM until 8:30 AM. The rooms were warm and spacious, though the balcony area could use a tidy-up. I didn't interact with any staff, and unlike other hotels we've stayed at, there was no information about local transport or attractions.

We weren't allowed to change rooms when we asked, even though the smell on our side of the hotel was awful, like a septic tank or an overflowing toilet. They offered perfume instead, which didn't help. We also thought the sauna was 50 LEI, but were charged 145 lay for 20 minutes in a dry sauna. The staff were very unaccommodating, and I wouldn't recommend it.
