Hotel Yesterday

The decor felt run down, with thick carpet, and the cleaning products had such a strong chemical smell that I kept coughing. The water was warm, but never hot.

The food was delicious, the rooms were okay, and the receptionist LADY was very kind. The restaurant was still the worst experience ever, though. The waiters were impolite, some even rude, and made you feel like you were bothering them when you ordered.

The spacious room was noisy from both the street and the restaurant, and the extra bed was extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was almost satisfactory, but needs a lot of improvement.

Being close to the metro and other public transport was the only upside. The room was stuffy and unpleasantly warm in December even with both the radiator and AC off, and noise came constantly from the street. I could hear a party three floors below, as well as my neighbor showering, using the toilet, and moving around because the walls were so thin. The bathroom was dirty and unpleasant to use. The shower was moldy, its sliding doors wouldn’t close all the way, and the shower head leaked at the sides. Warm tap water smelled especially strongly of old pipes. There was water damage on the bathroom ceiling and by the air vent near the wardrobe. The room hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly either: it was dusty, the towels had strange stains, and there was hair around the bathroom sink.
