GIA Suites

For a place called the DeLuxe Jacuzzi Apartment, this was seriously overrated. The missing GIA sign made it hard to locate with bags in hand, and I was left wondering whether it was licensed. There’s no elevator, and the stairs and dark first-floor hallway looked awful. The hotel itself is on the second and third floors. The shared kitchen had dim, flickering lights, no decent pan or cutlery, an unusable fridge, and neither coffee machine worked. In our room, the fridge had no shelves apart from a broken bottom one, and there was no minibar. The room was a little cold: the heating was off and the AC didn’t seem to work in heat mode. Two towels were torn, the toilet button kept jamming, and water pressure was low throughout. We also found two dead cockroaches. For two days, there was no electricity from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on one of those days we had no water either. This was during the first week of May 2023.

I’d stay here again. The room was clean and comfortable, which I hadn’t expected in a city like this. There were mosquitoes, and the toilet tank was giving trouble at the time, though.

It smelled of smoke and felt sketchy. I wouldn’t even recommend walking through the front door, let alone staying here. If I could, I’d give it minus five stars. Do NOT STAY HERE!!

The suites are really cool, with a nice view from the window. The staff were friendly and helpful, though I didn’t need much since everything was already there. The price was nice too.
