Hostel Ruxandra

The receptionist was rude, really rude. They had no English, there was no elevator, and the handrail between the GF and first floor was loose from its fitting. Luckily I didn’t fall. It’s also not central, about a 15 min walk to the Center. The hotel confirmation said they accepted all types of payment, but they insisted on cash. I’d arrived at night and wanted to exchange money for Romanian Lei, so I asked to pay the next day before checkout. They refused and demanded payment then, saying some guests had left without paying, even though they had my credit card details as a guarantee. They also tried to charge 100 Lei as 30€, though it’s worth less than 21€. Some arriving customers sided with me, and they accepted 22€. I ran out of hot water in the shower and had to go downstairs to the GF soaking wet with soap in my hair to report it. They fixed a closed valve and came back to tell me. I said “Sorry,” but they just replied “ok.” I told them they should be the ones to apologize.

The service is friendly and the place is clean. It’s been freshly renovated, though some areas are still unfinished.

Great service and a convenient location. I spent one night here with my colleague.

The reception staff were helpful and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable.
