Hotel Astoria City Center

We found this a good-value stay, with pleasant, clean rooms and AC that worked well on summer nights. Booking ahead didn't involve a reservation fee, and the hotel checked that we were still coming. It was easy to park nearby, and the main attractions and nightlife were a pleasant walk away. The staff made us feel welcome. I've enjoyed staying here and would return when I'm in Iasi.

The staff were friendly and willing to help, and the location lets you enjoy the distinctive feel of this lovely city. But the rooms need refurbishment. The air felt almost toxic, with lots of mold, the carpet was heavily stained, and the bathroom needs serious attention. The sheets and towels were clean but old, while the very old windows barely worked. Parking in front of the hotel is possible only if you get lucky.

I've stayed at the Astoria Hotel in Iași several times and have had a good experience each time. It's right in the city center, so getting around and exploring is easy, and the staff are consistently helpful and friendly. The hotel does need a full renovation, but the price is less than half what the neighboring hotel charges, so I think it's good value for what you pay. If a central location and good service are what you're after, it's a solid option.

Being right in the city center is the hotel's one good point. The rooms are dusty, even on the visible surfaces. The walls look like they haven't been painted in ages, and the furniture is either old or damaged. The bathroom is dirty and has a lot of damage too. The pictures can say more than I can.
