Piata Unirii Central Apartments

The apartment was so good it felt like home, and it’s easily my favourite stay anywhere so far. We stayed from December 28 to 30 after booking through Revolut. My girlfriend and I had come by train from Chisinau for a little winter break, arriving around 10 am even though check-in was about 1 pm. We hadn’t realised we’d booked an apartment, but we were delighted with it. The check-in desk is beside Tiki cafe. Once you go through the door, the only way is up. The women who helped us were friendly and very helpful, and spoke good English. We were in apartment B1, in the block just behind the check-in building. The building doesn’t look especially appealing inside or out, and that might be a bit of a shock for visitors from outside former communist countries. The stairwell was the only part that felt scary, but thankfully there was an elevator. Inside, the apartment was clean, spacious and lovely, with everything we needed. It had a microwave and an electric hot plate, which were new to us, and a very nice view across the centre of Iasi. The bathroom was attractive and everything worked, though the shower has no door, so water quickly gets onto the rest of the bathroom floor. The bed was comfortable and the blankets warm. There were also nice colour-changing LED lights behind the bed. The TV had Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Spotify. The table chairs weren’t very comfortable, but we hardly used them, so it didn’t bother us. We ordered room service once through their Tiki bar/bistro. It took about 40 minutes, but the food was very tasty, and having a room there got us a 10% discount. Each of us also got one token for a free coffee at the bar. The location is great. The Christmas market was on the next street, and there’s a tram stop right below the apartment, with cheap trams going all over Iasi. Check-out before 11 am was quick and smooth. It was an amazing stay for a very good price, and we can’t wait to come back. 5/5!
