Casa Carina

The guesthouse and its yard looked okay from the outside, and my two-star rating isn't really about the building. I didn't stay there because the surroundings matter too. The road to the guesthouse was awful, running through bushes and abandoned, ugly areas. It felt unsafe and desolate. At the start of the street there's also accommodation for foreign workers that looks like a stable. The guesthouse may have however many stars, but that setting made it a no for me.

Casa Carina in Jupiter reminded me that some people still care about other people, not only money. The owners are warm and welcoming, and Mrs. Alina is professional and serious. They even had our room ready when we arrived from Suceava at 03:30 at night. This is the kind of place where you can share breakfast or a beer at dinner and where the children play together. I was surprised by a comment saying the host was too friendly. Have we become so robotic that we can't appreciate people being kind and available? People who expect five-star treatment while paying little never seem satisfied, but I won't get into that. We found Casa Carina by chance, and it'll definitely become our yearly refuge on the Romanian coast. We'll recommend the guesthouse wholeheartedly. Sorry we left in such a hurry, but I'd promised the children we'd show them the sunrise :))

The location has lots of greenery and a lovely playground, and the lady hosting was very welcoming and friendly, maybe even a bit too friendly for my taste. I still had to give one star, though. There were spiders and webs all over the room. My child was scared and couldn't sleep, so we had to hunt them down and clean the webs ourselves. We came to clean instead of rest, and at night we couldn't sleep because people at nearby guesthouses were shouting and our room neighbors were noisy too. There isn't a parking lot. We parked in front of the guesthouse in an unused construction-era space, and woke to find the back of our car badly damaged. The damage is ours to deal with.

We're leaving today after a wonderful stay. The owners' hospitality amazed us, and everything felt just right. The rooms were clean and cool, and the summer kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. There was a large yard and terrace, a big barbecue, and plenty of quiet places to have coffee or sit on a swing. The kids had an outdoor play area with slides, a trampoline, and swings, plus another one inside. The quality for the price was VERY good. Thank you, and we'll definitely see you again in August!
