We won’t stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We usually stay at Hotel Ovidio, and the standards are in a different league. I don’t speak Romanian, but my wife does, and she said the female reception staff were consistently rude, with faces like thunder, as if being there was a favor to us. Maybe that’s what you expect at a two-star hotel, but still. Our room was too cramped to walk past the bed without brushing the TV, and the shower head was hung about four feet high. The bed was fairly comfortable, and outside noise didn’t come through much, though the fridge was noisy. The Wi-Fi didn’t reach our first-floor room. The chambermaids do spend all day polishing the hallway floors, which were the shiniest I’ve seen.

It’s fine for a weekend if you’re happy with a basic two-star stay. I had an apartment, which was okay and had two bathrooms. There’s no restaurant or breakfast, and no other food option. Parking costs extra, and the gate system is awkward because you have to go to reception to have it opened. Wi-Fi is mediocre but usable, and there’s no elevator. Staff are nice, though there’s room to improve. The hotel was renovated in 2016, but don’t expect too much. It’s about 100m from the beach, with nonstop shops and restaurants nearby. There are no sea-view rooms. Aqua Magic and the tele-gondola are both around 700m away. The rooms have air conditioning, but I couldn’t find the remote. You get only one room entry card. It’s pet friendly. If you want more for your holiday, stay somewhere else in the middle of Mamaia.

For the price, it’s the best hotel around. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the service is okay. We made the mistake of staying somewhere more expensive nearby this year and regretted it. Hopefully we’ll be back at our favorite, Delta, next year. Keep up the good work!

Nice place, but the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. I was also surprised to find dirty drinking glasses in the room, which felt especially bad with the whole COVID situation.

We’re having a lovely vacation here. The hotel feels cozy, the staff are helpful, and the beach is really close. There are supermarkets nearby too.
