One star is more than this filthy hotel deserves. There was dirt everywhere, and the rooms were poorly cleaned, if they were cleaned at all. The bathroom ceilings had mold, and the dusty air conditioning didn't work. I asked to change rooms twice. The third room was fine, but only compared with the previous ones.

Breakfast was good, varied, and reasonably priced, and the hotel is close to the beach. The downsides really spoiled it: unfriendly staff and dirt both inside and outside. They cleaned our room only every three days, so we spent three days with sand on the floor and dirty, wet towels. There was nowhere to put soap in the shower, so we left it on the floor. The old mattresses caused serious sleep problems for one of us, and the bathroom had no ventilation. In reality the hotel doesn't look very good, and it's highly overrated.

The food looked strange and had no taste. When I went at lunchtime, I ended up with leftovers because they didn't refill the food unless I made a scene. The hotel has 11 floors and around 10-15 rooms on each, but only one of its three elevators was working. With 120-130 rooms sharing one elevator, you'd face a 30-minute wait or have to take the stairs. There were no parking spots either, and the receptionist told me to park wherever I wanted. The room was awful. For a three-star hotel, I expected at least a decent bathroom. I don't think anything has been invested in the place for about 30 years. The mattress was old and hard with a big hole in the middle, and the furniture smelled funny. There was no balcony or window net, so bugs got in. The window couldn't be lowered for fresh air, only opened wide. This was my worst hotel experience in Mamaia. I had to choose one star to post the review, but they don't deserve even that.

This used to be a very popular old hotel. These days, it feels like a third-rate place, though the summer price is good. It's close to the beach and the food courtyard.

The staff deserve five stars. Everything else I rated two, while the food, shower, antenna, TV, furniture, and mattresses get zero. That comes out to two stars overall.
