Hotel Riviera

We paid 750 lei a night for a sea-view room, but the stay was one frustration after another. Parking was about 200 meters away, so we had to walk back to the hotel. Once in the room, it was unbearably hot. We set the AC to its lowest setting and shut all the doors and windows, but the room stayed like an oven. When we raised it with reception, they questioned whether we'd shut the door and set the temperature correctly. They said someone might look at it the next day. With the heat so bad, we had to sleep with the window open. We reported it again the following day, and someone came three hours later only to say that's how the AC works and nothing could be done. Both nights were spent sweating in what felt like a sauna. The shower was no better: the water swung suddenly from boiling hot to freezing cold, and the pressure would drop without warning. The elevators were tiny, there were only three, and they took ages to arrive, especially at busy times. Parking caused another problem the day before checkout. A car blocked ours, and reception told us to try calling its owner ourselves. We couldn't get it moved and lost access to our car for the whole day. For the price and the hotel's claimed category, this was extremely disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it, and we won't return.

The breakfast had everything we needed, all fresh, and I saw the chef checking on it several times. Staff were very kind and polite, and the views are great from every side, either out to sea or over the lake. The TV signal wasn't great, and the place feels like an old hotel. Still, I'd definitely stay here again.

The room was comfortable and clean, and everything felt well organized. Staff were friendly and helpful, so I had a great stay and would come back. 5/5!

We booked the studio, which is meant to be larger than the other rooms, but it still felt kind of small. The view from the upper floors was stunning, though.
