Platinum I

The view over Lake Sudghiol was excellent, but I found little else to recommend this hotel. The food was awful and the service quality was poor. The room photos are misleading: maybe one room looks like them, but ours had old furniture, torn, aged sheets, and a terrible smell. There were so few positives that I’d tell people to look elsewhere, or they may regret spending their money here. It deserves no stars in my view. It needs immediate repairs and redecoration, and should be closed until that work is done. The site required me to select at least one star to post this review.

The room, number 7208, had pencil drawings on two walls, a faulty shower, and dirty towels. The staff were unfriendly, and I wouldn’t give the hotel three stars. The one thing worth a star was the varied Swedish buffet breakfast, with milk, yogurt, vegetables, eggs, and meat.

The employees are trying hard, and to me they’re the real heroes for staying on. I hope the owner takes notice and puts money back into a hotel that deserves it. The place is dirty everywhere, from the rooms and bathrooms to reception and breakfast, and the old fridge in our room was wrecked. I’m not expecting everything to be new, but at least it should be clean. It isn’t even a cheap place, so I don’t understand why they can’t keep it properly clean. It’s a big hotel with a three-star rating. How did it get that, and why? I’d give it one star, two at most. Maybe it was lovely when new, but after years without investment it’s a real disgrace.

For €150 a night in high season, this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. During our five days there, nobody serviced the room at all. There was no hot water, heating, or cooling, and at times no water at all in the mornings and evenings. The furniture was very old, it was loud, and the doors wouldn’t close. Staff were unfriendly, unmotivated, and annoyed. I couldn’t get my money back. They either ignored those requests or told me to come back when the boss was there.
